What Size Door Do We Need To Allow For A Wheel Chair ?

(A)   To be ADA compliant you need to have a minimum clear opening of  32″  With this law keep in mind you must consider the width of the hinges and door stop when calculating your opening. We recommend using at least a 36″ door if possible.

How Do I Know What Size Of A Rough Opening I Will Need ?

(A)   Your rough opening will need to be larger than the size door you are wanting to use.  You will need to allow extra room for shimming in order to square the door unit. It is recommended that you add 2 1/2″ to the door height and  2″  to the door width.
